Project management software is a program that tracks work on a kanban board and links each card to the related quote, purchasing or production record. PureField's project board connects to quotes, CRM activities, purchase requests, RFQs, purchase orders, stock orders and production batches, and Copilot can build a five to nine task plan.
What project management software does
Project management software shows who is working on what, at which stage, and against which business record. Instead of spreading work across email threads and separate spreadsheets, each piece of work sits on a card.
In PureField, the card owner and followers show who is handling each task. The project shows its progress percentage, health, owner and members in one place.
How the kanban board works
A new project opens with five default columns:
- Backlog
- Todo
- In progress
- Review
- Done
You can rename the columns and change their order to match how your team works. Each column can have a WIP limit, so the team finishes current work before it takes on more.
Column rules can assign a card automatically when it enters a column, require a due date, block cards that are overdue, and require a completed checklist before a card moves to done.
What a task card holds
Each task card has a description, priority, task type, start date and due date. A card can have several owners and followers, a colour label, a checklist, comments, file attachments and a stage.
- Description, priority and task type
- Start and due dates
- Multiple owners and followers
- Colour label palette
- Checklist, comments and file attachments
Comments and card changes are recorded in the project activity log.
How cards link to business records
A card can link to the business record it belongs to. The linkable records are:
- Quote
- CRM activity
- Purchase request
- RFQ
- Purchase order (link only)
- Stock order
- Production batch
You can create a linked record directly from the card. The related tasks list on the linked record shows every card that belongs to it, so someone reviewing a quote or purchase request can see the work behind it.
How AI planning works
Copilot turns a short project description into a plan. It opens the project and five to nine tasks that cover the stages of the work. It assigns an owner by role, region and current workload, sets a priority, and gives each task a due date counted in working days from today.
A complete plan is saved directly. Deleting and editing stay with you. Copilot also answers questions about open and overdue tasks, who is working on what, and the project's progress and health.

Notifications and tracking
Notifications fire on assignment, assignment confirmation, approaching and passed due dates, status changes, comments and completion.
My tasks shows each person their own work. Statistics and the activity log let the project owner follow progress and health over time.
Using the board with purchasing
A purchase request is linked from the card, so the work and the request stay connected. RFQs and purchase orders appear as part of the same work record. Supplier quotes can be compared side by side, and the outcome can be linked to the card that needs it. For the full purchasing workflow, see the purchasing module page.

Frequently asked questions
Can I manage projects together with quotes and purchasing records?
Yes. Card links connect a project to a quote, CRM activity, purchase request, RFQ, purchase order, stock order and production batch.
Does the AI plan save without my review?
A complete plan is saved directly. Deleting and editing decisions stay with you.
What does a WIP limit do?
You set a limit on each column. When the limit is reached, the team finishes current work before taking on new cards.
How do I see overdue tasks?
Tasks approaching or past their due date trigger notifications. Copilot also lists open and overdue tasks when you ask.
Can I reuse a structure for recurring work?
Project templates keep the same stage structure, so each new project starts from a proven layout.
