What is AI-powered technical service software?

AI-powered technical service software adds AI agents to a service tool that keeps work orders, asset history and service reports. The agent ranks suitable technicians for a service request, answers questions like "which equipment goes out of warranty this month?" from your records, and does the follow-up. The service manager approves the assignment and any new work order.

What does AI do in technical service?

AI does the follow-up a service manager otherwise does by phone, spreadsheet or memory. Keeping records is still the service software's job; the agent works on top of those records.

TaskWhat the agent doesWho approves
Technician assignmentScores and ranks technicians by skill, performance, distance and workloadThe service manager approves the assignment
Fault requestCopilot opens a meeting: asset history, technician calendars and van stock are checkedThe work order waits on an approval card
Asking questionsAnswers questions like "equipment out of warranty this month" or "open work orders" from your recordsNo approval needed, it only reads
Service planningThe Service Planning digital employee checks the calendar and prepares a suggestionWaits for your approval by default
Unfinished reportThe report lands in the panel as a draftThe service manager corrects, completes and rates it

What happens with a fault request?

When a request comes in, the agent answers the three questions a service manager would ask: who serviced this unit before, who is free, and where is the part. Type "Assign a technician for the boiler fault at Moda Apartments" and Copilot opens a management meeting.

The After-Sales Services Director reviews the unit's 12 service records. The Service Planning digital employee checks four technicians' calendars. The Operations & Supply Director finds the ignition electrode in the service van. The result: "Mert Aydın is free tomorrow at 10:00 and did the last service on this unit. Shall I create the work order and assign it to Mert?"

The directors and digital employees in the meeting are AI personas; each has an AI badge next to their name.

How is it different from classic service software?

The difference is who does the follow-up. In classic software a request lands in a list and the service manager researches who should take it. With AI-powered software the research arrives done, and the service manager approves or changes the suggestion.

Both rest on the same foundation: QR asset cards, work orders, checklists, photos, customer signatures and PDF service reports. If those records aren't kept properly, the AI has nothing to look at.

What should you ask when choosing AI-powered service software?

The first question for any vendor is what the agent saves without approval. Then ask how scores are calculated and where your data is processed.

  • Which records does the agent save directly, and which wait for approval?
  • Which criteria does the technician suggestion use? Rules or a model?
  • If "predictive maintenance" is claimed, with what data and how does it work?
  • Does the agent only look at your own records?
  • What does the technician see in the mobile app on site?

How do you do this in PureField?

In PureField Field Service, the request links to a work order and the work order links to a signed service report. In the mobile app the technician scans the asset's QR code, sees warranty, documents and maintenance history, adds photos, fills in the checklist and gets the customer to sign. The PDF report goes to the customer by email.

Copilot and the digital employees work in the same panel. A complete create or update plan is saved directly; if it deletes something, is missing fields, needs a form step or used external content, the card waits for your approval. Digital employees suggest and wait for approval by default. Purchase orders are always approved by someone on your team.

The asset card shows a health score and the remaining time to maintenance by running hours, both calculated by rule. As the maintenance date approaches, a reminder email goes to the customer and your team opens the work order.

Frequently asked questions

Which decisions does AI leave to you in technical service?

The agent does the research and brings a suggestion; the service manager approves the assignment, any new work order and the final report. Purchase orders are always approved by someone on your team.

How is maintenance timing tracked?

The next maintenance date sits on the asset card. The asset health score and remaining time to maintenance by running hours are calculated by rule, and a reminder email goes to the customer as the date approaches.

How is the technician suggestion calculated?

Technicians are scored by rule on skill, performance, distance and that day's workload. The list arrives ranked, and you approve the assignment.

Does it make sense for a small service team?

Yes. Even with three or four technicians, "who is free, where is the part, who last looked at this unit" is answered on one screen. The agent has more to work with as asset history and work orders are kept up to date.
